Damallsvenskan 2008

The Damallsvenskan 2008 was the 21st season of the Damallsvenskan , the top division in the Swedish women's football . The games took place between April 6th and October 18th, 2008. In July and August the championship was suspended because of the Summer Olympics .

Champion Umea IK , who have won the Swedish Championship for the fourth time in a row and for the seventh time at all. The title of top scorer is shared by the Brazilian Marta (Umeå IK) and the Dutchman Manon Melis ( LdB FC Malmö ), who both scored 23 goals.

Four German players were active in Swedish clubs in the 2008 season. While Nadine Angerer , Ariane Hingst and Jennifer Meier with Djurgården Damfotboll only took fifth place, Aylin Yaren with LdB FC Malmö came third.
