The Damallsvenskan 1996 was the 9th season of Damallsvenskan , the top division in Swedish women's football . The games took place between April 20 and October 27, 1999.

Älvsjö AIK secured the second championship in a row. The title of “Skyttedrottningar” (top scorer) went to Lena Videkull from Malmö FF with 23 goals.
