Lisa Scottoline
Lisa Scottoline , actually Lisa Scott , (born July 1, 1955 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , United States ) is an American lawyer and writer .
Life
Lisa Scott studied English at the University of Pennsylvania with top grades until 1976 and law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School until 1981 . She worked as a judge at the Pennsylvania Superior Court, her home state's court of appeals , and later joined a large Philadelphia law firm as a trial attorney . After her daughter was born, she left the law firm in 1986 and began writing. In 1994, she returned to her job and was managing lawyer at the United States Court of Appeals, the US Court of Appeals .
Of the books, some of which were published under her real name Lisa Scott and some with the extension Lisa Scottoline, her first novel The Cat Was Still There (in the original: Everywhere that Mary went ) convinced audiences and critics alike in 1994 . For her second book Roses Are Red (in the original Final Appeal ) she received the Edgar Allan Poe Award , the most coveted prize for crime literature in America. Of the many subsequent novels, Fatal (in the original Look Again ) and Don't Go , which has not yet been translated into German, each reached number two on the New York Times bestseller list . It was also placed in other bestseller lists. She also received other awards. Her books have been translated into many languages and have appeared in 35 countries so far. In the USA alone, the total circulation is over 30 million copies. There are also films to be made.
The stories of her Rosato & Associates and Rosato & DiNunzio series revolve around the lawyers employed in a law firm and their cases.
She was president of the Mystery Writers of America .
Lisa Scottoline also reviews popular novels and non-fiction books for the New York Times , Washington Post, and the Philadelphia Inquirer .
Together with her daughter Francesca Serritella, she has been writing a humorous Sunday column for the Philadelphia Inquirer since March 2007 . As an anthology, these anecdotes and considerations also achieve high circulation figures. The first such band is called Why My Third Husband Will Be a Dog. The Amazing Adventures of an Ordinary Woman (Eng .: Why my third husband will be a dog. The amazing adventures of an ordinary woman ) and was published in 2009. The audio book edition of it was also awarded.
The successful author lives near Philadelphia, surrounded by many pets.
