List of Austrian envoys in the Kingdom of Sardinia .

The Kingdom of Sardinia was established in 1720. Its mainland part was annexed by France in 1798. It was expanded by the Congress of Vienna and in 1859. From 1861 it operated as the Kingdom of Italy. The rulers of Austria established diplomatic relations with Sardinia in 1705. Franz Joseph traveled through Lombardy at the beginning of February 1857. In the press of the Kingdom of Sardinia, the trip was accompanied with abuse, the legality of Austrian rule over Lombardy was questioned and an uprising against Austria was called for. The Austrian chargé d'affaires in Turin, Ludwig von Paar, complained to Camillo Benso von Cavour about the passivity of the censorship.
