List of alliance chairmen of the Alliance for the Future of Austria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of alliance chairmen of the BZÖ lists all party chairmen of the BZÖ at federal and state level. The federal and regional governors are usually referred to as alliance chairmen or women. In Carinthia , Salzburg , Tyrol and Vorarlberg , the party chairmen are called state party chairpersons or state party chairpersons.

Federal level

After Jörg Haider's death on October 12, 2008, Stefan Petzner was appointed his successor. However, after extremely emotional media appearances in which he spoke in detail about his private relationship with Haider, Petzner came under party criticism. On November 19, Petzner subsequently resigned from his role as managing alliance chairman and handed over the office to Herbert Scheibner , whereby Petzner spoke of a "voluntary change". Scheibner saw himself only as a "temporary solution" and did not run for the office of chairman of the alliance at the following party congress. At the federal party conference of the BZÖ on April 26, 2009 in Linz , club chairman Josef Bucher was elected national party chairman. After his resignation at the beginning of October 2013, Gerald Grosz was elected as his successor, who handed over the office to Johanna Trodt-Limpl after leaving politics . After she left politics, the office was not filled. As chairman of the Carinthian state party, she was followed by the Grafenstein municipal council, Helmut Nikel . Since the dissolution of the BZÖ Vienna in July 2019, the Carinthian regional organization has formed the remainder of the party.
