Jordan Robert Farmar (born November 30, 1986 in Los Angeles , California ) is a retired American basketball player who was active for most of his professional career in the NBA .

Career

Farmar attended UCLA college before being selected 26th in the 2006 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers . The 1.88 meter tall guard had a convincing debut season and he started the last two games of the season as well as the entire play-offs of the 2006/07 NBA season . He was invited to the 2007 and 2008 Rookie Challenge games.

In the 2007/08 NBA season he was used as a backup for Derek Fisher and convinced with an improved throw from a distance and from the three-point line . At the end of the season, the Lakers were in first place in the Western Conference and made it to the finals, where they then failed at the Boston Celtics 2-4 . In the 2008/09 season they reached the final again and this time they were able to win 4-1 against Orlando Magic .

In the wake of the NBA lockout for the 2011/12 season, he moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv , but had an exit clause to return to the New Jersey Nets in the event of an end to the pay dispute in the NBA .

During the 2013/14 season , Farmar was again under contract with the Lakers. He signed a contract with his former team until 2014.

For the 2014/15 season , Farmer moved to city rivals Los Angeles Clippers . He signed a contract there until 2016, but was fired by the Clippers in early January 2015.

After stints in Turkey and Israel, Farmar returned to the NBA in the spring of 2016 and joined the Memphis Grizzlies until the end of the season. For the 2016/2017 season, he then moved to the Sacramento Kings .
