Part of the oldest part of the Aldenrade cemetery, which was laid out between 1908 and 1911. The actual high cross, like its base, on which the biblical quote “I am the resurrection and the life” ( Jn 11.25 EU ) was stamped, is made of cast iron, in front of the monument there is a cover plate. From the Walsum colliery, the headframe and the hoisting machine houses of shaft 1 “ Franz Lenze ” as well as the ventilator building ( ⊙ ) have been placed under monument protection. The structurally identical headframe of the “ Wilhelm Roelen ” shaft from 1955/56 was dismantled in the summer of 2012 except for the base girders. The bridge was originally built in 1935 because Königstrasse had to be separated by the creation of the colliery's own northern port of Walsum. It was destroyed at the end of the Second World War and rebuilt in 1950.
