Franz Lenze

Franz Lenze (born October 13, 1910 in Balve ; † April 28, 2005 in Munich ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After graduating from the Laurentianum in Arnsberg in 1930, Lenze, who was a Roman Catholic , studied ancient languages, German and philosophy in Münster . Since 1931 he was a member of the Scientific Catholic Student Association Unitas -Rhurania Münster. In 1935 he passed the trainee exam, then he did trainee service in Rheine and Dortmund . From 1937 to 1943 he was a teaching assistant, and from 1939 head of the Bernardinum College in Attendorn . In 1943 he became a teacher appointed.

Political party

Lenze belonged to the CDU. From 1946 to 1949 he was district chairman of the Junge Union in the Olpe district . In 1949 he became CDU district chairman there. Just one year later, he took over the chairmanship of the CDU district association Sauerland and Siegerland and was also elected to the CDU regional executive committee. From 1953 he was also a member of the board of the CDU Local Political Association for North Rhine-Westphalia .

MP

Lenze was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1972 . He represented the constituency of Meschede - Olpe (from 1965: Olpe-Meschede) in parliament. From 1957 to 1972 he was also a member of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Assembly of the WEU .
