town hall | Kupferdreher Strasse 251 map |
On October 15, 1896, Byfang and Kupferdreh were appointed mayor's office of Kupferdreh and thus detached from the rural community of Werden, with the house being expanded into a town hall. When it was incorporated into the city of Essen on August 1, 1929, the town hall became the property of Essen. Administrative departments initially stayed here. On February 11, 1971, all remaining offices moved out. The house was initially leased to a company. After the renovation in 1988, physically handicapped adults moved into the former town hall through an integration project in order to lead an independent life. It is still inhabited in this form today. | 1880 | Dec 10, 1987 |
