The design created in 1908 came from Paul Thoemer . The 140-meter-long, baroque building was initially used as a judicial and prison building and at that time caused costs of around four million gold marks . After being destroyed in the Second World War , the current building was rebuilt between 1950 and 1956 on the old floor plan according to plans by the former government architect. D.
