Essen Regional and District Court | Zweigertstrasse 52 / Kortumstrasse map |
Between 1908 and 1913 the construction of the first building here took place under the supervision of the government master builder Georg Güldenpfennig . The design created in 1908 came from Paul Thoemer . The 140-meter-long, baroque building was initially used as a judicial and prison building and at that time caused costs of around four million gold marks . After being destroyed in the Second World War , the current building was rebuilt between 1950 and 1956 on the old floor plan according to plans by the former government architect. D. Alfred Pegels rebuilt at a cost of over five million D-Marks and integrated the older, rebuilt and listed east wing. | 1950-1956 | Oct 4, 2005 |
