Jiří Hunkes (born July 31, 1984 in Brno , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who last played for the Schwenninger Wild Wings in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Jiří Hunkes began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of HC Kometa Brno , where he was active until 2000. He then moved to the youth department of HC Oceláři Třinec , for whose professional team he was active in the Czech extra league from 2002 to 2006 . During this period, the defender also ran repeatedly as a loan player in the first division , the second Czech division, and was used in this for HC Ytong Brno , HC Havířov and HK Jestřábi Prostějov . The 2006/07 season he spent in the Finnish SM-liiga , in which he was initially on the ice for Lukko Rauma and in the closing stages of the season for Pelicans Lahti . From 2007 to 2011, the former international played for Bílí Tygři Liberec in the Extraliga. Only the end of the 2008/09 season he spent with his league rivals BK Mladá Boleslav .
For the 2011/12 season Hunkes was signed by HC Lev Poprad from the Continental Hockey League . After the season ended, the franchise moved to Prague and Hunkes received a new contract with HC Lev Prague in May 2012 .
After spending the 2013/14 season with the Bílí Tygři Liberec in the Extraliga, he moved to HK Lada Toljatti in June 2014 , who returned to the KHL for the 2014/15 season.
International
For the Czech Republic , Hunkes took part in the junior division exclusively in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2002 , where he and his team won the bronze medal. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2006 and 2007 .
