( Location ) Ensemble market place On the southern slope side of the Vilstal, gently sloping towards the river, there is an unusual length of the market square, which is crossed by the Frontenhausen – Dingolfing road and on the eastern flank of which the road leads to Vilshofen. A fortification of the place, mentioned for the first time in 760 and given market rights in 1445, was started but not completed. The southern and northern front of the square are occupied by two churches, the Gothic parish church with the tower substructure from the 12th / 13th centuries. Century and the also Gothic Salvatorkirche, whose south flank, stuccoed in 1739, represents a graceful counterpart to the fortress-like weight of the higher parish church. After local fires in 1659, 1719 and 1746, the last fire in 1835 particularly affected the gabled houses north of the confluence with Landauer Straße. They were mainly rebuilt as eaves side houses, on the eastern side of the square with half and full hips. The largely closed row of houses on the west side faces the east in groups or individually arranged houses, which are connected by arched walls. The facade design of the houses in the southern section of the square with stepped gables is based on the parish church. E-2-79-134-1 Ensemble market place

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
