The list of honorary citizens of Schramberg includes all 18 people who have received the highest distinction in the city of Schramberg since 1887 and who have been made honorary citizens . These are two women and sixteen men. In one case, the appointment of Reich Governor Wilhelm Murr in December 1933, honorary citizenship was revoked after the Second World War . Two people were made honorary citizens of Sulgen, which was incorporated in 1938. Tennenbronn , which has been incorporated since 2006, has made a total of six people honorary citizens.

    awarded on May 18, 1887
    Reason : Schramberg owes it to his efforts as a member of the Oberamtsviertel Oberndorf in the Stuttgart state parliament that the city got a rail connection ( Schiltach – Schramberg line ) in 1892 . Von Leibbrand is also an honorary citizen of Balingen and Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt

    awarded on April 9, 1902
    Reason : Albert Holzwarth was a city schoolboy from 1878 to 1902 and it was thanks to his drive that Schramberg quickly developed into an industrial city.
  2. Erhard Junghans (1849–1923), manufacturer, councilor of commerce
    awarded on April 10, 1911
    Reason : Recognition of his services as an entrepreneur that made the Junghans watch factory, founded in 1861, together with his brother Arthur (see No. 4) one of the leading companies

    Reason : His ingenious technical talent was largely responsible for the incredibly rapid growth of the Junghans watch factory.
  4. Paul Landenberger (1848–1939), factory owner, co-founder of the Hamburg-American watch factory (HAU)
    awarded on August 22, 1922
    Reason : Recognition of the great services that he has earned as the founder and head of the Hamburg-American watch factory (HAU), the second largest industrial company in Schramberg.
  5. Cajetan Graf von Bissingen-Nippenburg (1870–1956), Privy Councilor and District Director, owner of the count's castle and large areas in the Tierstein district.

    Reason : Thanks to the city of Schramberg for leasing the palace and park for the purpose of expanding the station and the city.
  6. Erwin Junghans (1875–1944), factory owner, general director of the watch factory Gebr. Junghans, son of Arthur Junghans (see no. 5)
    awarded on February 27, 1927
    Reason : Recognition of his services to domestic industry after the First World War.

    Reason : Recognition of her services as a benefactor in numerous charitable and social areas (auxiliary teacher in World War I, school meals, children's hospital, Protestant workers' association).

    Reason : Appreciation of his services as an entrepreneur and local politician, as well as his social commitment as an employer (Albert Moser Foundation)

    Reason : Recognition of his services to the further development of the city (incorporation of Waldmössingen, construction of today's district hospital, the retirement home, the high school, sports facilities).

    awarded posthumously in 1999 (intended for her 80th birthday, which she did not live to see again)
    Reason : Appreciation of their commitment in local politics in the city and in the district, but also in numerous organizations and associations (“city mother”).

    Reason : Appreciation of his wide-ranging and outstanding commitment to his hometown. Recognition of his performance as an entrepreneur and politician at local, regional and state level.
    Steim has also been an honorary citizen of the Chinese city of Taicang in Jiangsu Province since 2005 .

Honorary citizen of the Sulgen community

The municipality of Sulgen , which was independent until the incorporation in 1938, granted two clergymen honorary citizenship.

  1. Josef Göser (1867–1929), head of the Heiligenbronn monastery
    awarded on June 5, 1926
    Reason : On the occasion of his 25th anniversary as head of the monastery in Heiligenbronn in recognition of his services to the Franciscan monastery.
  2. Julius Bundschu (1854–1932), pastor in Lauterbach , Sulgen and Heiligenbronn
    awarded on June 13, 1931
    Reason : On the occasion of his 50th anniversary as a priest, in recognition of his many years of activity as pastor of Sulgen and Heiligenbronn.

Honorary citizen of Tennenbronn

The municipality of Tennenbronn , which was independent until it was incorporated in 2006, has given a total of six people honorary citizenship

  1. Josef Kaltenbacher (1879–1959), mayor of Katholisch Tennenbronn and, after 1922, of the entire municipality of Tennenbronn
    awarded on May 28, 1954
    Reason : Merits for the merger of the two parishes Catholic and Evangelical Tennenbronn and for the whole parish
