List of governorates of Jordan
Jordan consists of twelve governorates (Arabicمحافظة / muḥāfaẓa ). They are each headed by a governor.

Adschlun, Aqaba, Jarash and Madaba governorates were introduced in 1994.
The governorates are divided into districts (Arabic لواء / Liwāʾ ) and these in sub-districts (Arabicقضاء / Qaḍāʾ ).
