Périgord was confiscated on April 17, 1398 , the last count (Archambaud VI.) Later deposed. The Périgord was given to the Duke of Orléans.

- Francoise de Châtillon, attested in 1481, his niece, Countess of Périgord, Vice Countess of Limoges , wife of Alain d'Albret from 1470
- Their descendants and heir is King Henry IV.
Schwennicke joins Favier in the European Family Tables Volume VII (1979) Table 18 and Volume II (1984) Table 14A, but gives the data in Volume II (1984) Table 24:
- Charles de Valois-Angoulême (* 1459; † 1496), son of Jean d'Angoulême, count of Angoulême and Périgord in 1467
- François de Valois-Angoulême (* 1494; † 1547), his son, Count of Angoulême and Périgord in 1496, as Francis I King of France in 1515
- Gabriel Marie de Talleyrand-Périgord was appointed Count of Périgord on February 7, 1767 . He is the uncle of Charles Maurice de Talleyrand , the French diplomat.
