Complete old town
Complete old town Seligenstadt The entire complex includes the old town within the Gothic city fortifications including the abbey area. The city center is characterized by a closed half-timbered building with mostly eaves-standing houses. The street layout is irregularly designed in the Middle Ages. The market square and Freihofplatz are the two traditional squares. Outstanding buildings are: the abbey church, the ruins of the Kaiserpfalz, the Romanesque house, the Steinheim gate tower, the half-timbered house from 1426 in Aschaffenburger Strasse and the half-timbered house Große Rathausgasse 8 also from the 15th century. The historical buildings are special thanks to their generous shop fittings in the central area, the substance is often severely weakened.
