The basis is the entries in protection lists from European to regional level.

Natural monuments

The village square of Vierzehnheiligen has always been planted with linden trees, under which the pillory was held at the time of the pilgrimage. Presumably, this tree is a successor to this linden tree.

Nature reserves

The city of Jena has a share in seven nature reserves, two of which are entirely in the urban area and five in part in the Saale-Holzland district.
