This is a list of cities in Djibouti .
By far the largest agglomeration in the Republic of Djibouti is Djibouti City with a population of 689,743 (as of January 1, 2005). This means that around 90 percent of the country's people live in the capital region.
The following table contains the cities with more than 1,000 inhabitants, their names in German transcription and in Arabic as well as the higher-level administrative unit ( region ) to which the city belongs. Djibouti City has a special status and does not belong to any region. The population figures are calculated for January 1, 2005 and refer to the actual city without suburbs.
