This list of student associations in Leipzig shows the currently 15 active as well as the numerous postponed and expired student associations at the traditional University of Leipzig , the Leipzig Commercial College and other Leipzig study institutions.

Alsatia boys' union 1893 black-silver-green Burschenbunds-Convent mandatory So-called. equal connection between Jews and non-Jews. Postponed in 1933, reactivated in Marburg in 1958. 1968 merged with Thuringia Munich in Marburg to form Burschenbund Alsatia-Thuringia, postponed in Marburg in 1973, AHV 2017 still exists.

Country team Brunsviga 1882 Cornflower blue-white-black German country team mandatory 1965 merged with Rhenoguestphalia Bochum to form the Rhenoguestphalia-Brunsviga Landsmannschaft. This in turn in 1983 with Ubia in Cologne to Ubia-Brunsviga. Last merged with Palaeomarchia Halle in 2015 to form Ubia-Brunsviga-Palaeomarchia Cologne.

Corps Hermunduria 1898 violet-white-gold WSC mandatory Gegr. as a non-colored, commercial and educational association and based at the commercial college . Reconstituted in Mannheim in 1951 and has been based there ever since.
Gymnastics Federation Istaevonia 1877 blue-white-black Representative convention of the gymnastics associations mandatory Gegr. as a legal and political science association. The name Istaevonia is a Latinized corruption of the abbreviation I.St.V. The re-founded AHV merged in 1958 to form the gymnastics club Cimbria-Istaevonia Bonn. This suspended in 2009, the tradition is maintained today by the Landsmannschaft Salia Bonn in the CC.
Classical-Philological Association 1865 moss green-white-pink DWV not striking Gegr. with the participation of Friedrich Nietzsche , permanently suspended from 1922/23.
Masuria 1869 orange-silver-light blue DWV not striking Gegr. as a mathematical association, from 1930 Masuria, reactivated in Braunschweig in 1957, suspended since 1990.

Plessavia fraternity 1878 violet-white-gold General German Burschenbund , later German Burschenschaft (left in 2013) optional Gegr. as an Academic Association for Modern Philology, from 1894 Academic-Neuphilological Association, re-established in Leipzig in 1993, postponed around 2008.
Corps Rheno-Guestphalia 1902 pink-white-purple Rudolstadt Senior Citizens' Convention mandatory Gegr. at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, moved there in 1912, merging with the Markomannia Leipzig gymnastics club. AHV merged into Markomannia Bonn ( WSC ) in 1951 .
Red Lion fraternity 1875 red-gold-red General German Burschenbund , later New German Burschenschaft (from 2008) free Gegr. as a heraldic association in Zwickau, from there to the University of Leipzig in 1880. Re-established in Leipzig in 2002, postponed around 2011.
Country team Saxo-Afrania 1988 white-blue-gold on red Coburg Convent mandatory 2010 merged with Plavia-Cheruscia Munich to Plavia-Arminia Leipzig.
Connection in the KC Saxo-Bavaria 1912 light green-white-light blue Kartell-Convent of the connections of German students of the Jewish faith mandatory Jewish fraternity. Disbanded in 1933, not re-established after 1945.
Country team Saxo-Borussia 1879 green-white-purple German country team mandatory Gegr. as Landsmannschaft Saxonia at the University of Veterinary Medicine Dresden and moved with this to Leipzig in 1922. 1923–1930 Corps in the Rudolstädter Senioren-Convent , AHV since 1952 in a working group with Hansea auf dem Wels Munich.
Saxo-Hansea 1898 pink-light blue-white association-free mandatory Gegr. as an academic association Hammonia at the commercial college , since 1904 as Saxo-Hansea at the university. 1911 merged with Guestphalia Berlin in Erlangen to form Saxo-Guestphalia as a prerequisite for acceptance into the German Landsmannschaft.
Country team Sorabia 1716 dark blue-gold-dark blue German country team mandatory Gegr. as a Lusatian preaching society, is also considered the oldest German student union. Reconstituted in Münster in 1964, merged with Westphalia to form Landsmannschaft Sorabia-Westphalia in 1969.
Fraternity of Suevia 1886 red-silver-blue General German Association of Boys optional Gegr. as a skat club Saxo-Suevia, fraternity from 1890. Leipzig " Stresemann Society". Reconstituted in Cologne in 1950, merged with Wartburg to form Wartburg-Suevia in 2016.
KStV Teutonia 1874 blue-white-green KV no 1954 merged with Rudelsburg Jena in Marburg to form KStV Teutonia-Rudelsburg, which in turn was merged into Thuringia Marburg.
