The parish church Mariae Himmelfahrt was first mentioned in 1143. The sacred building is on the highest point of the village, the surrounding wall is defensible and covered with stone slabs. Today's church is a Gothic building from 1420 to 1436, comparable to the church in Hochburg and the Braunau hospital church. Oswald Bürkel is accepted as the builder. The Gothic tower on the west side is 72 meters high and has a baroque tower. The nave is constructed from a hexagon (4 1/2 yokes, partly with three naves and two naves), so three octagonal pillars with services on the edges support the ribbed vault. The church doors have rich lily fittings. The huge high altar from 1661 has cartilage and twisted columns, it is attributed to a Mattighofen master from St. Florian near Helpfau , the painting is by Tobias Schinagl. Martin Zürn is believed to be the creator of the larger than life wooden figure of Maria with child from the middle of the 17th century .
