The inn was built in 1887 and expanded in 1894. It consists of four different wings, with the extension buildings being simpler than the mighty, three-story old building. This has a brick basement and upper floors timbered in tightly jointed block construction, two mighty roof bay windows and a saddle roof. The lavishly designed architectural details typical of the time and region are executed with sophisticated carpentry skills. Inside, mostly original floorboards, wall planking and field or wooden beam ceilings are still preserved on the upper floors.

The ceiling paintings with scenes from the life of Mary were created in 1912 by Josef Haun.
