The castle, which was built in the 13th century, is strategically located on a hill well protected by rocks above the Salzach . For a long time it was owned by the Archdiocese of Salzburg. Today the large and well-preserved castle is a popular excursion destination. Since 1971 it has also housed a museum.

The parish church is a little higher in the south of the center. The two-bay central nave and the choir are late Gothic; both have ribbed vaults. The side aisles were added in 1688. The west tower is Gothic up to the bell floor. The wall structure of the high altar dates from 1707, the side altar structures from the middle of the 18th century.

The Filialkirche is a pilgrimage church and was built from 1764 to 1766. A flat-arched, closed choir adjoins the hall with a cloverleaf-like floor plan. The plasterer Benedikt Zöpf (1765) created the stucco for the interior . The bronze door of the portal was designed in 1964 by the sculptor couple Anneliese and Josef Zenzmaier .

The monument was erected by the sculptor and headmaster Hubert Spannring in 1898 in honor of the Salzburg freedom fighter Joseph Struber . The inscription reads: The defenders of the Pongau in 1809 and their leader Josef Struber.
