A late baroque sacred building that was built from 1775 to 1792. In 1977/78, according to the plans of the architects Klaus Becker and Erich Eberstaller, a modern new building was added on the north side of the baroque church and a passage was created between the two.

The Nepomuk column stands in the northwestern gusset of the Illmitz parish church between the nave of the old church and the new building. Originally the wayside shrine was placed in front of the rectory. The statue stands on a renewed cube-shaped base. The recently polychrome stone statue of St. John Nepomuk comes from the second half of the 18th century.
