The Romanesque basilica of Seckau Abbey was initially built from 1143 to 1164, but was significantly redesigned in the 14th and 15th centuries. The neo-Romanesque towers date from 1891 to 1893. Archduke Charles II , among others, is buried in the mausoleum . It was built between 1587 and 1612 by Alessandro de Verda and Sebastian Carlone .

The plague column on the cell site carries an Immaculata carved out of copper, begun in 1719 by Johann Lukas Sigl and completed in 1721/22 by Joh. Georg Herkhommer , both from Augsburg. The stone statues of St. Augustine, Antonius von Padua, Franz Xaver and Sebastian as well as the four angels come from Josef Christoph Schweiger and from the year 1717, the wrought iron grille from Philipp Gritsch in 1722. The Marian column was restored in 1821, 1902 and 1960/61.

The remains of the Karner (the original Magdalen chapel) are to the east of the basilica in the garden of the monastery. From the late Romanesque round building only the foundation walls and an apse arch are preserved.

The two-and-a-half-storey building with a hipped roof was built in 1661 by Peter Franz Carlone . It was provided with pilasters over two floors and stucco in 1710–1720. The stucco can also be found in the stairwell and in several rooms, there also relief fields.

The Färberkreuz is a double chapel with rococo stucco from 1766. In one chapel a cross-dragging stone Christ and in the other a wooden statue of Johann Nepomuk from the 2nd quarter of the 18th century by Balthasar Prandtstätter .

The cemetery chapel in the name of Jesus is a remnant (probably a side chapel) of the Jakobus chapel mentioned in 1197 and demolished in 1782, the later parish church.

The rectangular room with a segmented apse is oriented to the south, the nave is covered with a wooden ceiling, the north wall is made of Romanesque brickwork. Roof ridge on the north side. On the north facade World Judge by Brother Bernward Schmid from 1966. The baroque cross group comes from the 1st quarter of the 18th century, the statue of the Virgin from around 1700 and St. Ambrosius from the 2nd quarter of the 18th century by Balthasar Prandtstätter come from the Schachenkirche .

The Lucia Chapel is the remainder of the hospital that was demolished in 1912 and built in 1501 under Provost Dürnberger.

The chapel comprises a small rectangular room with a reticulated vault on consoles and a flat oriel niche for the altar in the east, and the shoulder arch portal in the west. The interior is entirely painted with frescoes, dated twice with 1501. The frescoes were restored in 1968/69, the exterior restoration took place in 1975.

The baroque guardian angel church in Schachen probably dates from the 18th century. The church is oriented to the south, three bays with a semicircle. A flat groin vault on wall pillars covers the nave, the gallery has a slightly curved wooden parapet. On the north side a roof turret, the sacristy east of the choir with a flat ceiling. The altar was built around 1770 in rococo style, with the hll. Isidore and Notburga.
