Nathan Stern (born January 3, 1871 - † April 15, 1948)
- Awarded on March 7, 1912
- Jewish entrepreneur, representative of the German-Israelite Community Association , founder of the Prinzregent Luitpold Fountain.

Ludwig Troll (born February 4, 1870 - † July 11, 1961)
- Awarded on February 8, 1955
- Troll was made an honorary citizen for his services in maintaining the archives of the city and the district of Mellrichstadt. In 1954 he received the Federal Cross of Merit .

Alfons Halbig (born July 19, 1893 - † June 9, 1970)
- Mayor from December 1935 – February 1946 and June 1948 – June 1970
- Awarded on July 19, 1958
- Halbig was mayor of Mellrichstadt from 1935 to 1945 and again from 1948. With the award of honorary citizenship, his tireless drive and services to the development of the city were recognized. Halbig received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1958 and the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1964 . He was also the holder of the Bavarian Medal of Merit for local self-government. Alfons-Halbig-Platz in Mellrichstadt is named after him.

Kilian Brönner (born July 8, 1892 - † December 8, 1970)

- From 1937 to 1964 Brönner was the parish priest in Mellrichstadt. He was made an honorary citizen because of his services to pastoral care.

August Nadler (born April 3, 1915; † unknown)

Max Schweser (* 1899; † 1981)
- Awarded on June 9, 1978
- Teacher, principal of the elementary school Mellrichstadt, writer, local researcher.

Rudolf Hanauer (born March 4, 1908; † December 29, 1992)

- Lawyer, politician ( CSU ), President of the Bavarian State Parliament (1960–1978). Bavarian Order of Merit (1960), Large Silver Decoration on Ribbon for Services to the Republic of Austria (1960), Grand Cross of the Order of St. New Year's (1961), Grand Cross of the Federal Cross of Merit (1964).

Gotthard Dumbacher (born June 15, 1914; † unknown)
- Awarded on February 24, 1980
- Pastor of Eußenhausen .

Oskar Herbig (born January 29, 1924 - † September 29, 1998)
- Awarded on January 29, 1989
- Mayor from September 1970 to 1994. The Oskar Herbig Hall in Mellrichstadt was named after Herbig. Herbig was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 1984 and the Franconian cube in 1988 . In 1994 he received the Municipal Medal of Merit in Silver.
