The Little Beaver Creek is a right 26 km long tributary of the Ohio River in the northeastern US state of Ohio and western Pennsylvania . It drains into the Gulf of Mexico via the Ohio River and Mississippi River . The Little Beaver Creek is part of the river system of the Mississippi River and drained together with its tributaries an area of 1,567 square kilometers. The creek is formed by the confluence of the two headwaters Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek and West Fork Little Beaver Creek at Westpoint in Columbiana County in Ohio and then flows in a generally southeastern direction to the confluence with the town of Glasgow in the Ohio River.

The Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek rises southwest of Salem and flows north into Mahoning County , then turns southeast to the connection with the West Fork Little Beaver Creek. The Middle Fork is 65 km long and drains an area of ​​382 km². The West Fork Little Beaver Creek rises in southern Butler Township in Columbiana County and flows south, forming Guilford Lake, taking in Brush Creek and then turning east to the confluence with Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek . The West Fork has a length of 40.5 km and drains an area of ​​around 290 km². The third source river is the North Fork Little Beaver Creek and has its source in Springfield Township in Mahoning County. It first flows southeast to Pennsylvania and then returns west to Ohio. It flows into Little Beaver Creek about 13 km below the confluence of the Middle and West Fork. The North Fork is 55 km long and drains an area of ​​474 km².

A large part of the river system (a total of 53 river kilometers) of Little Beaver Creek and its headwaters are listed in the "scenic" category as National Wild and Scenic River .

Characteristic for the catchment area of ​​Little Beaver Creek are deep valleys, wooded slopes and isolated rocks. The river itself is covered by large boulders and there are numerous rapids, but also calm stretches of river and clear, fast-flowing tributaries. 63 species of fish, 49 different mammals, 140 bird species and 46 different species of reptiles and amphibians were counted in the catchment area, including Ohio's largest population of the endangered Hellbender salamander .
