The Little Delta River is a 39 km long left tributary of the Tanana River in the interior of Alaska .

The Little Delta River arises in the northern Alaska range at the confluence of its two headwaters, West Fork and East Fork Little Delta River. The Little Delta River flows north through the Kuskokwim Tanana Plain and finally flows into the Tanana River 45 km west-northwest of Big Delta . Due to the high sediment load that comes from the eastern headwaters of the Little Delta River, an estuary delta has formed that protrudes into the Tanana River. The Alaska Highway runs along the north bank of the Tanana River across from the mouth of the Little Delta River. Further east, the Delta Creek and Delta River run almost parallel to the Little Delta River.

Source rivers

The East Fork Little Delta River drains the Gillam Glacier . The 37 km long, glacier-fed river initially flows in an east-northeast direction and gradually turns to the north and finally to the north-northwest. It unites with the West Fork Little Delta River, which is hardly fed by glaciers, to form the Little Delta River.

The West Fork Little Delta River forms the western headwaters of the Little Delta River. It rises in the Alaska range at an altitude of 1650  m . Initially it flows east. After 12 km coming from the south, a nameless glacier-fed tributary flows into the West Fork Little Delta River. The West Fork Little Delta River then turns northeast and after a total of 45 km reaches the East Fork Little Delta River.
