Liu Dong
Liu Dong ( Chinese 劉東 / 刘东 , Pinyin Líu Dōng ; born December 27, 1973 in Liaoning Province ) is a former Chinese middle-distance runner . At a height of 1.73 m, her body weight was 55 kg.
Liu Dong was the 1992 junior world champion in the 1500 meter run . The following year she was second at the Asian Championships and won the 1993 World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart. In 4: 00.50 min she was almost three seconds ahead of the Irish Sonia O'Sullivan .
In 1994 and 1995, Liu Dong did not take part in competitions because she fell out with her trainer.
