Lyudmila Alexandrovna Shagalova
Lyudmila Alexandrovna Schagalowa ( Russian Людмила Александровна Шагалова ; born April 6, 1923 in Rogachev , BSSR , USSR ; † March 13, 2012 in Moscow ) was a Soviet or Russian actress .
Life and accomplishments
Lyudmila Schagalowa was born into a military family in what is now Belarus , but moved to Moscow in 1928.
Shagalova first appeared in front of the camera in the late 1930s. After visiting the State All-Union Institute for Cinematography , she gave her first leading role in The Young Guard in 1948 , for which she was honored with the Stalin Prize the following year . The blonde actress was then regularly seen in films until the late 1980s, her work includes literary adaptations ( The Duel , Jim Hawkins' miraculous adventure - Treasure Island ), fairy tale films ( The fairy tale of lost time , The Ice Fairy ) and comedies ( Journey with obstacles , who marries whom? ) As well as the film biography Thirty Years and a Day about IA Lichatschow, the director and namesake of the company Zavod imeni Lichatschowa . The last time she was in That can't be true! to be seen as the leading actress. From 1948 to 1994 Shagalova also appeared at the Moscow State Theater of Film Actors .
The magazine Советский экран selected her for her role in Who will marry whom? to the best actress . Furthermore, on November 26, 1965, she was honored with the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR , followed on January 7, 1977 by the appointment of People's Artist of the RSFSR .
Private life
Schagalowa was married to the camera operator Vyacheslav Michailowitsch Schumski (1921-2011) since May 9, 1945 .
In 2000, Shagalova underwent eye surgery after becoming almost completely blind. She died of old age about a month before her 89th birthday and was buried next to her husband in the Perepenskoye cemetery near Moscow.
