Lyudmila Ivanovna Bragina
Lyudmila Ivanovna Bragina ( Russian Людмила Ивановна Брагина , English transcription Lyudmila Bragina ; born July 24, 1943 in Sverdlovsk ) is a former Russian medium and long-distance runner who competed for the Soviet Union . Her running routes were the 1500 and 3000 meters , over which she also set several world records.
Her greatest successes were the gold medal at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich over 1500 meters, the silver medal at the European Athletics Championships in 1974 over 3000 meters and the silver medal at the 1977 World Cross Country Championships .
