Ljupčo Jordanovski
Ljupčo Jordanovski ( Macedonian Љупчо Јордановски ; born February 13, 1953 in Štip ; † October 7, 2010 in Skopje ) was a Macedonian seismologist and politician .
Life
Jordanovski studied engineering at the University of Zagreb until 1975 , and in 1985 he received his doctorate from the University of Southern California with a thesis in the field of seismology . He then worked at the University of Skopje , where he taught as a professor of seismology from 1992 to 1995 and 1998 to 2003.
In addition to his scientific work, Jordanovski was also active as a politician. As a member of the SDSM , he was elected MP in 2002 and President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia in 2003 . After Boris Trajkovski's death on February 26, 2004, he was acting President of Macedonia until May 2, 2004.
Jordanovski was Macedonian Ambassador to the United States from April to December 2006 . In 2007 he left the SDSM and became chairman of the newly formed Free Democrats Party .
Ljupčo Jordanovski died after a heart attack on October 7, 2010 in Skopje. He was married and had three children.
