Life

Lobsang Yeshe was recognized as a Trülku of Lobsang Chökyi Gyeltshen in 1668 and brought to Trashilhünpo . He received his first Buddhist vows in 1670 from the 5th Dalai Lama in Lhasa ; the full ordination in 1684 of Könchog Gyeltshen (Tib .: dkon mchog rgyal mtshan ; 1612–1687).

In 1695 he gave the lay vows to the 6th Dalai Lama , the ceremony took place at the invitation of Desi Sanggye Gyatsho in Nankartse near Lhasa .

In 1702 the 6th Dalai Lama decided against a future life as a Buddhist monk . In order to return his vows to Lobsang Yeshe, he made a special trip to Trashilhünpo in Shigatse , which can be seen as a sign of the special respect between these two lamas . In 1705 Sanggye Gyatsho was murdered by Lhabzang Khan, in 1706 the 6th Dalai Lama died on "a trip to China".

In 1713 Lobsang Yeshe received the title "Penchen Erdeni" (Tib .: pan chen er te ni ) from Emperor Kangxi , which was used in the future as another title for the "Penchen Lamas".

In 1717 Lobsang Yeshe gave the first Buddhist vows to the 7th Dalai Lama , and in 1727 full ordination.

After the Tibetan Civil War in 1728, Miwang Pholha Sönam Tobgyel practically became "King of Tibet ". Furthermore, two Chinese ambassadors from Emperor Yongzheng , so-called Ambane , were added to the government in Lhasa. Lobsang Yeshe was at that time, although he initially refused to do so because of his age, de facto made sovereign in Tsang and western Tibet .

After the 7th Dalai Lama returned from exile and dealt with religious matters, he and Lobsang Yeshe maintained close personal contacts.

Lobsang Yeshe died in 1737 at the age of 74.
