The Logos Group is a Bochum-based company for system catering and project development . Since 1985 it has opened over 40 restaurants, 17 of them in Bochum's " Bermuda3eck ".

As a project developer, she was responsible for the Exzenterhaus , Schlegel-Haus and the IMAX -Theater Bochum.

concept

The company develops, creates and leases gastronomic operating concepts and hotel operations and provides advice with operational know-how. The subject of the concepts are scene-oriented restaurants in the leisure gastronomy segment in Germany, with a focus on the central Ruhr area, especially in Bochum's Bermuda3ieck.

history

The company's founders, Hans-Joachim Hauschulz and Alexander Schüler, both had experience with the operation of discotheques, Hauschulz with the “Logo” in Essen , and students with the “Appel”, the later “ incident ” in Langendreer . Together they opened the nationally known logo in Bochum's city center as the first project . After this club had established itself as the “living room of the scene in the Ruhr area”, they followed up with the club disco “Café du Congo” in 1987 and the rock disco “Macao” in 1989, both also in Bochum.

In 1990 the Logos Gruppe realized the music circus Saxony, housed in a large circus tent in Dresden's Ostragehege , at the time the largest discotheque in the GDR .

After the end of the logo, the “Club Planet” with logo DJ Ralf Odermann as co-partner, something like its bigger successor in program and target audience was created in the immediate vicinity .

Hauschulz, Schüler and Frank Nokielski, who joined in 1987 as the third partner, shifted the focus of the further gastronomic development of the Logos Group to Bochum's Bermuda3eck, where the first projects had already been implemented by the shareholders from 1982. In the mid-1990s, the Logos Group covered almost the entire market in Bermuda3eck with a wide range of different gastronomy concepts. In contrast to conventional system catering, not many locations with one concept, but one location with many concepts were developed.

Since the mid-1990s, the Logos Group has been included in the annual industry ranking “The largest companies / systems in the hospitality industry in Germany”. In 1996, the company was ranked 65th among the systems with the highest sales and 6th in the “ Beverage-based catering ” segment . The Logos Group demonstrated its supraregional pioneering role, among other things, with the design and implementation of the first sushi restaurant in the Ruhr area (Sticks, 1993), one of the first art hotels in Germany (art Hotel Tucholsky, 1992) and with what is probably the largest and most profitable concept of themed gastronomy in Bermuda3eck Bochum, the sports bar " Three Sixty " (1997).

The Logos Group is one of the co-founders of ISG Bermuda3Eck, one of the first real estate and location associations (Business Improvement District / BID) in North Rhine-Westphalia , of which Hans-Joachim Hauschulz is a member.

From the turn of the millennium, the Logos Group became increasingly involved in project development . For example, the IMAX Theater in Bochum, located next to the Starlight Express Theater on the A 40 , was developed and sold as a multifunctional event hall to a casino with over 120 licensed entertainment machines after a change in use . In 2009 it was the largest - according to § 33c of the trade regulations - licensed location of this type in Germany.

An architectural landmark was initiated in 2004 with the eccentric house . The Exzenterhaus Bochum builds over a listed bunker and in 2012, with a total height of more than 89 m, is the tallest office building in the Central Ruhr region .
