The Chlumec nad Cidlinou – Městec Králové railway is a branch line ("regionální dráha") in the Czech Republic , which was originally built by the Chlumetz – Königstadtl (Czech: Místní dráha Chlumec – Králové Městec ) as a state-guaranteed local railway . It runs from Chlumec nad Cidlinou ( Chlumetz ) to Městec Králové ( Königstadtl ).

history

The concession for the local railway from Chlumetz to Königstadtl was given to " the factory owner Karl Frič " on June 3, 1899. On May 9, 1901, the line was opened. The operation was carried out by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) for the account of the local railway Chlumetz – Königstadtl .

In 1912, the local railway's timetable indicated three mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains every day. They needed 38-41 minutes for the 14-kilometer route from Chlumetz to Königstadtl. In Königstadtl there was no direct connection to the trains to and from Křinec.

After the First World War , which Austria-Hungary lost , management was transferred to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). On January 1, 1925, the Chlumetz – Königstadtl local railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

During the Second World War , the route lay entirely in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The operators were now the Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB). On May 9, 1945, the entire line came back to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

In the 2012 timetable, the timetable lists eleven pairs of passenger trains on weekdays, some of which are linked to Stará Paka. Four run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Locomotives

For the account of the local railway Chlumetz – Königstadtl the kkStB procured two locomotives of the 97 series . The locomotives had road numbers 97.203 and 204.

Today, passenger train traffic is handled by the ČD class 810 multiple units.
