The Havlíčkův Brod – Humpolec railway is a railway connection in the Czech Republic that was originally built and operated as a nationally guaranteed local line Deutschbrod – Humpoletz (Czech: Místní dráha Nĕmecký Brod – Humpolec ). The route leads from Havlíčkův Brod ( Deutsch Brod ) to Humpolec .
According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.
history
On June 4, 1893, the concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Deutsch Brod station of the privileged Austrian Northwest Railway to Humpoletz was granted. The line was opened on September 1, 1894.
The operation was carried out by the Österreichische Nordwestbahn (ÖNWB) on behalf of the owners. After it was nationalized in 1909, management was transferred to the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB). In 1912 the timetable of the local railway indicated three mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains over the entire route. The trains took about an hour and 20 minutes for the 26 kilometers.
After the collapse of Austria-Hungary in October 1918, management was transferred to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). On January 1, 1925, the local railway Deutschbrod – Humpoletz was nationalized and the line was integrated into the ČSD network. From then on it was administered by the State Railway Directorate (Ředitelství státních drah) Praha Jih .
The commissioning of modern motor trains by the ČSD enabled a significant consolidation of the timetable at the end of the 1920s. In the winter timetable of 1928/29 five pairs of passenger trains operated as motorized trains are listed. The winter timetable of 1937 already recorded eight pairs of trains on weekdays, five of which were motorized trains.
During the Second World War , the route lay entirely in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The operators were now the Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB). On May 9, 1945, the entire line came back to the ČSD.
On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).
In the 2013 annual timetable, the route will be served by passenger trains every approximately two hours.
Vehicle use
The local railway Deutschbrod – Humpoletz did not procure its own locomotives. Locomotives from the ÖNWB were used.
Since the last tender in 2006, ČD has been using the route for 2011 to 2021 primarily with the ČD series 841 , which were specially ordered for the tendering of the routes in Kraj Vysočina, as well as occasional vehicles of the ČD series 810 that operate the vehicle shaped on the route in previous years.
