Lola Artot de Padilla
Lola Artôt de Padilla (born October 5, 1876 in Sèvres near Paris; † April 12, 1933 in Berlin ; actually Dolores de Padilla ) was a French-Spanish soprano who performed mainly in Germany.
Live and act
As the daughter of the well-known Belgian mezzo-soprano Désirée Artôt de Padilla and the Spanish baritone Mariano Padilla y Ramos (1842–1906), she received exclusive singing studies from her mother and made her debut in 1902 in a concert in Paris. After guest appearances at the Hoftheater in Wiesbaden (in the title role of Ambroise Thomas ' Mignon ), at the Royal Opera in Stockholm and at the Philharmonic in Warsaw , she was engaged at the Komische Oper in Berlin from 1905 to 1908 . Here she was involved in the premiere of the opera Romeo and Juliet in the village of Frederick Delius .
After a year-long guest tour in Europe, she became a member of the ensemble of the Royal Opera House in Berlin as a character soprano in 1909 and was awarded the title of royal Prussian chamber singer in 1913 . Here she sang Octavian in the first performance of Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss , in the same year the goose maid in Engelbert Humperdinck's Königskinder , in 1916 the composer in Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss, and in 1921 in the premiere of the opera Turandot by Ferruccio Busoni . She also made guest appearances in Holland and Scandinavia. In 1927 she left the theater stage, where she had proven herself above all as a Mozart interpreter (e.g. as Cherubino and Countess in Figaro's wedding and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni ). Furthermore, she successfully performed a wide variety of roles in a broad repertoire: Marie in Bedřich Smetana's Bartered Bride , Charlotte in Jules Massenet's Werther , Micaela in Georges Bizet's Carmen , Amelia and Oscar in A Masked Ball and Violetta in La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi . Most recently she worked as a singing teacher in Berlin.
Your final resting place is in the south-west cemetery Stahnsdorf .
