The Lomnice (German Lunzbach , also Lomnitzbach ) is a right tributary of the Smědá ( Wittig ) in the Czech Republic .

course

The Lomnice rises in the Jizera Mountains on the northern slope of the Smrk . Its upper course lies in the protected landscape area CHKO Jizerské hory and leads through a deep valley between the Měděnec ( copper mountain, 777 m) and the Rapická hora ( Raplitz , 708 m) to the northwest. At Nové Město pod Smrkem the brook reaches the Jizera Mountains foothills ( Frýdlantská pahorkatina ) and flows at the southern foot of the Heinersdorfer Ridge ( Jindřichovický hřeben ) between Podlesí and Nové Město pod Smrkem in a westerly direction. Below Nové Město pod Smrkem, the Lomnice is bridged twice by the Frýdlant v Čechách – Jindřichovice pod Smrkem line .

The middle course of the Lomnice leads past Hajniště and V Lukách and north of the Chlum ( High Grove , 495 m) through the Peklo Nature Park. On its lower course, the Lomnice turns to the southwest. South of the hill Hadí Kopec (378 m) in the valley of the Lomnice there is a natural monument PP Hadí Kopec. After 16.1 kilometers, the Lomnice flows into the Smědá on the edge of the Peklo Nature Park in Luh .
