Lonnie Spurrier

Lonnie Spurrier ( Lonnie Vernon "Lon" Spurrier; born May 27, 1932 in Cass Township , Douglas County , Missouri ; † June 23, 2015 ) was an American middle-distance runner and sprinter .

At the Pan American Games in Mexico City in 1955 , he won silver over 800 meters and gold in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

In 1956 he was sixth over 800 m at the Olympic Games in Melbourne .
