action

Leila is 19 and a hype. But no one understands the sensitive girl between bumper cars and cotton candy. Not even her best friend Sarah, with whom she is secretly in love. When a chaotic night in the emergency room ends, Leila volunteers to be admitted to a psychiatric clinic. There she shares the room with the shy Frenja and the mysterious Ann. Although the women are so different - Frenja is married and the mother of a young daughter, Ann has chosen not to be bonded all her life - the three quickly get closer and closer. They desire and fall in love with each other. At night they roam out of the clinic, bathe together in the pool, and go partying through clubs. Leila suddenly feels recognized and cared for.

background

Looping is a co-production with the Babelsberg Film University and is also Leonie Krippendorff's graduation film.

criticism

“Leonie Krippendorff's feature film debut is a small, very coherent portrait that lives from strong female characters, but is also wonderfully intimate. You can tell that the artist started out as a photographer, as she composes pictures of simple but concise beauty. "
