Lorenz Boellinger

Lorenz Böllinger (born July 13, 1944 in Bad Friedrichshall ) is a German legal scholar, emeritus professor for criminal law and criminology at the University of Bremen .

biography

Böllinger studied law and psychology at the University of Frankfurt am Main . He is a lawyer, qualified psychologist and psychoanalyst and initially worked as a lawyer. He then became a professor at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences . In 1982 he became a professor at the University of Bremen.

Böllinger's criminal science focus is mainly on drug offenses (as well as sexual and violent offenses). He headed the "Bremen Institute for Drug Research" (BISDRO). Other focal points of his work are forensic psychology and the treatment of offenders.

In the area of drug policy , he advocates liberalization; he criticizes the drug policy practiced in the Federal Republic. Böllinger is a member of the Schildower Kreis , an expert network that argues against drug prohibition (the prohibition of drugs). He advocates a petition to the German Bundestag calling for the establishment of a study commission to review the criminality of cannabis use. He is also spokesman for LEAP ( Law Enforcement Against Prohibition ) Germany e. V. , which for the legalization of drugs used

Böllinger is a member of the advisory board of the Humanist Union and an official supporter of the surveillance-critical data protection demonstration Freedom Instead of Fear . Böllinger considers it (as of 10/2018) to be a violation of the principle of proportionality to punish the handling of cannabis, provided that it is the consumer.
