Lorenz Marti

Lorenz Marti (born April 25, 1952 in Niederlenz ; † May 27, 2020 ) was a Swiss writer , radio journalist and religious editor for the cultural broadcaster Schweizer Radio DRS 2 .

Life

Lorenz Marti, son of the Bernese pastor and writer Kurt Marti , wrote all kinds of stories as a four-year-old child, later articles for school and student newspapers, for the daily press and various magazines. From 1973 to 1980 he studied history and politics at the University of Bern and graduated with a lic. phil. hist ( MA ) as a historian .

From 1977 to the end of 2012 he worked as a religion editor for the Swiss radio station DRS. His Sunday morning broadcast Perspectives achieved an extraordinary market share. He was with the magazine “ saemann ” from 2002, and after its integration in 2008 in “ reformed. “He continued to be a writer and columnist there .

In his books he asked about the importance of philosophical and religious wisdom in everyday life; other main topics were: the art of living , mysticism and the connection between science and spirituality . His best-known works are “A handful of star dust” and “By the way, life is beautiful”.

Marti lived in Bern with his wife Corina Bräuer . He is the father of an adult daughter.
