Loris Dominissini (born November 19, 1961 in Udine ) is a former Italian football player and current coach. As a player, including for Udinese Calcio and AC Reggiana active, he was the coach of the team Calcio Como directly from the Serie C1 to Serie A .

Player career

Loris Dominissini, born on November 19, 1961 in Udine , northern Italy , started playing football for the local club Udinese Calcio . Initially active in the youth of the club, he was accepted into the first league team in 1980, but could not prevail and no use in Serie A in 1980/81 . He then played for a year at the third division US Triestina , where he made 22 games. The following year he worked for Pordenone Calcio before the midfielder returned to Udinese Calcio in 1983. Here he could not assert himself again properly and completed seventeen league games in the following two seasons. The Serie A 1983/84 Dominissini finished with his team in ninth place and was thus not in the relegation battle for the first time in several years. In the following year, she was able to stay in league with eleventh place. In 1985 Loris Dominissini moved to FC Messina in Serie C1 . With the club the midfielder first of Girone B succeeded in Serie C1 with a point ahead of Taranto Sport promotion to the Serie B . Dominissini made twenty league games with one goal for FC Messina during the season.

From 1986 to 1993 Loris Dominissini was subsequently active for AC Reggiana and was part of the club's team, which experienced a phase of great upswing. After two years of good placements in Serie C1, they became first in Girone A in this league in 1988/89 with two points ahead of US Triestina and rose again to Serie B after six years. There the team of coach Giuseppe Marchioro was able to establish itself and ended the 1989/90 season as a climber in seventh place. This placement could be confirmed in the following season. Also in 1991/92 they came in seventh. In Serie B 1992/93 things went even better for AC Reggiana. After the end of all game days, the team was ranked first in Serie B with a two-point lead over first rival US Cremonese , which meant promotion to Serie A for the first time in the club's history. Loris Dominissini left the AC Reggiana after the promotion and switched to AC Pistoiese . He had previously made 146 single-goal league appearances for AC Reggiana in seven years. In Pistoia Dominissini was not used, however, he moved to the amateur club ASD Sevegliano after a year without a league game. There and at AS Pro Gorizia he let his football career come to an end, which he finally ended in 1996 at the age of 35.

Coaching career

From 1998 to 1999 Loris Dominissini was initially involved in the coaching staff of Udinese Calcio before he took over the team from Como Calcio as head coach for the third division season 1999/2000 . After only tenth place in the Girone A of Serie C1 jumped out in the first year, Dominissini made it to Serie B with Como Calcio in the 2000/01 season. This was achieved by a second place in Girone A of Serie C1, only behind FC Modena . In the playoff games due with it, they won against Spezia Calcio and AS Livorno and rose to Serie B. Arrived in the second division, Como Calcio played a surprisingly good season under coach Loris Dominissini and ended the Serie B 2001/02 as a climber in first place with two points ahead of Modena. Thus Como Calcio managed the direct march through from the third to the first division and at the same time the first promotion to Serie A since 1989. Serie A 2002/03 began for Dominissini's team with three defeats in a row, until the eleventh game day the team was without a win . After a 3-0 defeat against AC Perugia , Como Calcio dismissed his coach Loris Dominissini in November 2002 after three years of cooperation, and was succeeded by Eugenio Fascetti . But even the experienced coach could not prevent Como Calcio's direct relegation. Since then, the club has not been able to return to Serie A.

For Loris Dominissini, a few short, not very successful interludes at various clubs followed. So he trained in Serie B 2003/04 from the start of the season at Ascoli Calcio , but was dismissed after only twelve match days. End of season 2004/05 he was coach of third division Spezia Calcio, with whom he Coppa Italia Serie C won. For five game days Dominissini was also trainer at Udinese Calcio towards the end of Serie A 2005/06 . From 2006 to 2007 he subsequently trained Pro Patria Gallaratese . He also worked for AC Reggiana from 2009 to 2010 for a year . In 2011, Dominissini moved to Belgium , where he became the new coach of the second division club CS Visé , whom he looked after for a year. Loris Dominissini's last engagement as a coach was in 2014 for a short time at the Italian amateur club ASD Lumignacco.
