Los Feliz is a district of the Californian city of Los Angeles . Los Feliz is the residence of celebrities.
Surname
The name Los Feliz is not derived from the Spanish word for luck , but goes back to Jose Vicente Feliz , who owned Rancho Los Feliz during colonial times . The Los Feliz debate is considered controversial. There are at least four possible ways to pronounce the name. Today's most common accent corresponds to that of immigrants from the Midwest .

Los Feliz is bordered to the north by Griffith Park , to the east by Atwater Village and Silver Lake , to the south by East Hollywood, and to the west by Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills . Los Feliz stretches from Western Avenue in the west to the Los Angeles River in the east. Hollywood Boulevard to the south and Sunset Boulevard to the east is the border of the district. It has an area of 2.61 square miles (6.76 square kilometers ). By Los Feliz leading Hollywood rejection ( Hollywood Fault Line ). It is an earthquake fissure that can cause earthquakes up to 7.0 on the Richter scale .
Demographics
According to the 2000 census, 35,238 people lived in Los Feliz at the time. According to estimates by the Los Angeles Planning Commission, in 2008 there were 36,933 residents. The largest ethnic group is whites (57.6%), followed by Latinos (18.7%) and people of Asian descent (13.7%). 44.5% of those living in Los Feliz were born outside of the United States. The median income per household in 2008 was $ 50,793, with three quarters of residents renting.

Los Feliz is known as the home of celebrities. On the one hand, because both Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles are easily accessible from here. On the other hand, the heights of nearby Griffith Park offer privacy and privacy. The quarter has been divided into three parts. history
Los Feliz was originally the settlement area of the Tongva people. Remnants of a Tongva settlement can be found at Fern Dell Canyon near Griffith Park.
Los Feliz was part of an early land donation for Jose Vicente Feliz. The Feliz family owned the land until 1863, when Anthony Coronel chatted away the land from the head of the family. Griffith acquired the land and tried to market the hillside location. With the rise of the film industry and the booming oil industry, however, wealthy people were interested in residential properties in what is now Los Feliz.
The neighborhood hit the headlines with the murder of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca on August 10, 1969 by supporters of Charles Manson .

The buildings in Los Feliz reflect the history of the home of the rich and beautiful. The majority of the buildings were erected between the First and Second World Wars . Stylistically, you will find houses of the modern age as well as in different revival styles. The district has works by architects such as Wallace Neff , Frank Lloyd Wright , Richard Neutra , Gregory Ain and Rudolph Schindler . Well-known works include Wright's Ennis House or Neutras Lovell House , which was shown in the film LA Confidential . An example of the houses built in a revival style is the Blackburn Residence, built in 1927 by Paul R. Williams .
