Life

Lothar Trier was drafted into military service at the age of 15, shortly before the end of the war. After the war he took up a position as an electrical engineering apprentice.

The construction of new machines finally aroused his interest and he switched to what was then "Fränkische Lederfabrik Plastik GmbH", today's Rehau .

There he worked his way up from the shift supervisor to the technical manager of the branch in Feuchtwangen and built up another plastics company, Schock & Co in Schorndorf .

In 1967 Trier founded the Kunststoff-Technik Scherer & Trier GmbH & Co KG in Michelau in Upper Franconia together with Georg Scherer and Andreas Scherer . With a workforce of initially 20, braiding materials and profiles for the construction industry were manufactured. In 1972 the first orders from the automotive industry were added, which today still determine the majority of the company's business with over 2000 employees worldwide. The company co-founded by Lothar Trier is the second largest employer in the Lichtenfels district .
