history

Lothe was first mentioned in writing in 1497.

Lothe was incorporated into the town of Schieder-Schwalenberg on January 1, 1970 .

A sporting highlight was the appearance of FC Schalke 04 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the local sports club TSV Lothe 04. The Schalke team clearly won the friendly 10-0. A cultural highlight was the performance of the band Die Toten Hosen in 1984 in the Lothe youth cellar. As a fee, the band received 300 DM as well as a required football game before the performance against the organizers, a clique of young people from the Steinheim area.

In 1988 the village was awarded the gold village title at the district level in the competition " Our village should become more beautiful " and in 1991 bronze at the state level.
