Ludwig "Louis" Link (born October 19, 1827 in Lauffen am Neckar , † July 7, 1889 in Heilbronn ) was a German councilor in Heilbronn.

Life

At the age of 14, Link began a commercial apprenticeship at the Köber company in Heilbronn and then worked in Stuttgart and Duisburg before he married Pauline Münzing in 1853. He then became a partner in the Heilbronn company Münzing , which had been founded by his father-in-law Friedrich Michael Münzing (1807–1879). Links Children get married in respected Heilbronn families: son Ludwig Link jr. (1856–1934) Martha Meißner, daughter Bertha Emilie (1859–1918) married the Heilbronn city doctor Alfred Schliz , daughter Emma married businessman Rudolf Sperling and daughter Johanna (1870–1947) married manufacturer Peter Bruckmann .

Link was a long-time councilor in Heilbronn, a member of the supervisory board of various companies and chairman of the Württemberg trade association. He was a board member of the stock corporation "Ketten-Schleppschifffahrt auf dem Neckar" and was awarded the title of Kommerzienrat when the chain tugboat business began in 1878 . In 1881 he had the Villa Link on Cäcilienstraße in Heilbronn completed.

Appreciation

In his memory, his descendants founded the Link'sche Family Foundation, from which today's urban retirement and nursing home Heilbronn Katharinenstift emerged. Linkstrasse in Heilbronn has also been named after Louis Link since 1921 .
