Louis Petit (bishop)

Louis Petit AA (born February 21, 1868 in Viuz-la-Chiésaz , † November 5, 1927 in Athens ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Athens .

Life

Louis Petit joined the order of Assumptionists, made his profession on August 15, 1887 and was ordained a priest on August 15, 1891 . Pius X appointed him on March 4, 1912 Archbishop of Athens and Apostolic Delegate in Greece .

The episcopal ordination donated to him the Bishop of Montpellier , François-Marie-Anatole Cardinal de Rovérié de Cabrières , on April 25 of the same year; Co - consecrators were Pierre-Lucien Campistron , Bishop of Annecy , and Agostino Zampini OESA , His Holiness General Vicar for Vatican City.

Following the resignation as archbishop on June 24, 1926, appointed him Pope to Titular Archbishop of Corinthus .
