Louis de Gramont

Louis Ferdinand de Gramont (born August 6, 1854 in Sèvres , † December 9, 1912 in Paris ) was a French journalist , playwright and librettist .

Gramond studied after school attendance law . He then worked as a journalist for magazines such as Radical , L'Éclair , La Presse , Petit bleu , L'Aurore and La Cocarde . From 1890 he was editor of L'Intransigeant . He has also written theater and music reviews for La Lune rousse and La Petite lune .

Some of his dramas were premiered at the Odéon and the Théâtre-Libre . In addition to Jules Massenet , Camille Erlanger and Xavier Leroux composed operas based on his libretti.
