Luboszyce ( German love seat ; Lower Sorbian Lubošojce ) is a village in the rural community of Gubin in district Krosno Odrzańskie the Polish Lubusz .
Geographical location
The village is located about 12 kilometers south of the town of Gubin (Guben), 34 kilometers southeast of Krosno Odrzańskie (Crossen an der Oder) and 56 kilometers west of Zielona Góra (Grünberg in Silesia).
history
In 1658 the place was mentioned with the name Lubschütz . The place name goes back to the personal name Luboš . Before 1945 Liebesitz belonged to Germany. In the spring of 1945 the village was occupied by the Red Army and shortly afterwards placed under Polish administration. In the period that followed, the German population was expelled by the local Polish administrative authority and replaced by Poles.
In the village there is a neo-Gothic castle from the years 1846–1850 with a landscape park worth seeing, and nearby is an important archaeological seat of the Liebesitzer culture from the second to fourth centuries (remains of a settlement and a cemetery).
