Luc Deflo (born February 27, 1958 in Mechelen ( province of Antwerp ), Belgium ; † November 26, 2018 there ) was a Belgian thriller author who published his novels in Flemish . He also worked part-time as a consultant for the financial company KBC Group NV .

Life

Luc Deflo wrote plays, screenplays and radio plays before he published his first successful thriller Naakte aimen ( Naked Souls) in 1999. The novel was nominated for the Hercule Poirot Prize . The protagonists of his Jos Bosmans and Dirk Deleu series are an examining magistrate and a police commissioner. Most of the novels are set in the city of Mechelen.

After 15 years Deflo left his previous publisher Manteau (WPG-Uitgevers) because his ideas and those of the publisher were no longer compatible, reported the Belgian news agency Belga and the daily De Morgen on December 20, 2013.

Luc Deflo was married to the Venezuelan Sormaria Machan and lived in Brussels . He died in November 2018 at the age of 60, leaving behind his wife two daughters and a son.
